Software localization verification
Overview
A team of our ISTQB certified Quality Assurance engineers work in the ES Near shore Solution Development Centre. Symantec outsourced part of its localization process including functional testing for consumer and corporate editions of Symantec products to us. We control the quality of the products and perform acceptance tests of software builds for multi-language releases including Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), Korean, Russian, Czech, Polish, German, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese and others.
Customer Business Need
There was an urgent security update to all Symantec corporate products. The problem was identified and all current product releases require an update. Windows PC clients, NetWare PC clients, Windows servers, NetWare servers in all currently supported versions and languages had to be patched and verified against functional, security and localization requirements.

- Preparation and maintenance of a complex test environment (up to 60 PC workstations and servers)
- Functional tests covering installation, execution, performance and patches
- Regression testing
- Security control of the software release
- Update of internal and end-user documentation
