Software testing – a process closely related to software implementation. It is one of the software quality control processes. Testing has two main objectives: software verification and validation. Software verification checks whether the software is manufactured in accordance with the specification, whereas validation checks whether the software is compatible with the user’s expectations.

Information systems surround us at every step, they are involved in almost every area of our lives. During software development special emphasis is being placed on its functionality and compatibility with the existing business processes, as well as the needs of the end-customer. Testing is usually left as the last step to be undertaken, when the development department has completed its work. Often such tests are routine checkups on whether the process occurs properly and if the functionality is implemented as assumed; these tests are carried out in a very limited extent. Performance or load tests, tests to help optimize the code in order to speed up the software are often omitted.
